When your failure times add up to certain number of times , It will E-Mail to the customer . On the other hand , the system will has the record in the log file . For instance : 201.105.55.101 was set the firewall , so your ping operation shall be failure . But its web server can be visited successfully with the 80 port . You will know the result whether the 201.105.55.101 is servicing or not .

Method one, install the FIREWALL .( best method)
Method two, stop some service which is not necessary .
Method three, limit the open port , and you can set those ports is opened.
